Custom Passepartout with symmetrical cutouts
Present photo series, small art prints, or personal memories in a uniform arrangement. A Passepartout with symmetrical cutouts combines multiple motifs in a single frame. The identical image openings are arranged regularly in rows – matching the number of your images and the desired overall format.
Determine external dimensions and cutout size
Enter the desired width and height of the Passepartout. For an existing picture frame, use the glass size or the frame's insert size as a guide. Then, define the common width and height of the image cutouts.
The cutout size determines the visible area of the image. Choose it slightly smaller than the actual image format so that the edges lie behind the Passepartout. Check each motif to ensure important details and captions remain fully visible.
Define number of cutouts and layout
Enter the total number of image openings under “Number of cutouts”. Use “per row” to determine how many cutouts are arranged side by side. For example, if you design nine images with three cutouts per row, this creates an arrangement of three rows with three images each.
After entering your specifications, click “Calculate” and check the result in the preview. This allows you to evaluate the layout and the overall effect of the Passepartout.
Adjust border width and outer margins
The border width refers to the distance between adjacent image cutouts. The margins (left, right, top, and bottom) describe the distance from the entire image arrangement to the respective outer edge of the Passepartout.

Select material and color for your image series
A uniform Passepartout board gives your image series a cohesive background. Light tones allow the motifs to take center stage. With a dark or colored version, you can emphasize contrasts or pick up a recurring tone from your images. Select the appropriate version from the available materials and colors. Add backing board and check configuration
If required, you can add a matching backing board and select a picture frame. Before ordering, check the external dimensions, cutout size, number of openings, as well as border width and margins. Your symmetrical multi-opening Passepartout will be custom-made according to your configuration.
