Design custom-made picture frames in wood or aluminum
Whether for photography, drawings, posters, or art prints: with a custom-made picture frame, you can coordinate the format, frame profile, and color with your motif. Choose a wooden or aluminum frame and add the matching glazing, a backing board, and a Passepartout if desired. Design your framing step-by-step in the configurator.
Wooden or aluminum frames – which suits your image?
Custom-made wooden frames offer versatile design options. Depending on the profile, color, and finish, they can appear natural, classic, or modern. A visible wood grain can emphasize the warm radiance of a motif, while an opaque lacquered surface provides a clear color accent.
Custom-made aluminum frames are characterized by clean lines. Particularly narrow profiles remain visually subtle and draw the eye to the image. Enter the correct frame dimensions
In the “Passepartout / Sheet size” field, enter the width and height of the content to be placed in the frame:
- Without Passepartout: Enter the full format of your image, photo, or poster.
- With Passepartout: The external dimensions of the Passepartout are decisive, not the size of its image cutout.
The external dimensions of the finished picture frame will be larger depending on the chosen profile. An explanation of the different measurements can be found under Measuring picture frames correctly.
Coordinate profile and color with motif and room
Choose from the available frame profiles and color finishes. A narrow profile provides a subtle border, while a wider profile can give the image more presence. In addition to the colors of your motif, consider the wall color and the environment where the image will hang.
Select glazing and backing board

A matching backing board supports the image structure and seals the framing at the back. Choose the version that suits your project. Also note the rabbet depth of the frame profile: glass, image, Passepartout, and backing board must all fit inside.
Add a Passepartout if desired
You can expand your framing via “Add Passepartout”. A Passepartout creates visual distance between the motif and the frame, giving the image more space. Check configuration before ordering
Finally, check the sheet size, the selected frame profile, the color, and all additions. Your picture frame will be custom-made according to your individual configuration.
