In addition to safety and UV aspects, color reproduction, reflection, material thickness, and the distance to the work play a decisive role.  Below you will find an overview of the different types of glass we offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-36a1fb9b\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Float glass \u2013 standard solution with optical limitations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Float glass is the classic picture frame glass. It is hard, electrically neutral, and relatively scratch-resistant. However, it is often overlooked that float glass is not completely color-neutral.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the thickness, it has a slight <strong>greenish inherent tint<\/strong>, which can become visible particularly with light motifs or white Passepartouts. For conservationally demanding works, this can lead to a minimal optical distortion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Float glass is installed as standard in many ready-made frames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-36c98cf6\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Standard Glass \/ Float Glass<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High-quality glass with ground edges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>robust and proven<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not anti-reflective <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UV protection from 30 to 45% <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to its low UV protection, float glass is not suitable for framing valuable or sensitive artworks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-f7bdf05e\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Standard Frosted Glass (Refloglas)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Single-sided frosted surface to reduce reflections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, the matte texture also reduces the brilliance of the image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UV protection from 30 to 45% <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Important: The Passepartout thickness should not exceed 2.0 mm. If the distance between the glass and the artwork is greater, the image may appear slightly blurred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-fceb8caa\"><div class=\"uagb-separator-spacing-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator__inner\" style=\"--my-background-image:\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Acrylic glass \u2013 lightweight, shatterproof, and strong UV protection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acrylic glass (PMMA) is significantly lighter than float glass and almost unbreakable.
